In a mixing bowl, combine the vital wheat gluten, vegetable broth, soy sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes elastic.
Shape the dough into a rib-like slab and place it on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
Cover the dough with another sheet of aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
Remove the top foil and brush the dough with BBQ sauce. Bake for another hour, basting with more BBQ sauce every 20 minutes.
Let the ribs cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
