Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups navy beans soaked overnight
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups water

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drain and rinse the soaked beans.
  3. In a large oven-safe pot, sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add the beans, molasses, maple syrup, tomato paste, mustard powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and water. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then cover and transfer to the oven.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
