Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package phyllo dough thawed
  • 2 cups mixed nuts chopped
  • 1 cup vegan butter melted
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brush a baking dish with melted vegan butter.
  3. Layer half of the phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each sheet with butter.
  4. Mix chopped nuts with cinnamon and sprinkle over the dough.
  5. Layer the remaining phyllo dough on top, brushing each sheet with butter.
  6. Cut into squares and bake for 45 minutes until golden and crisp.
  7. In a saucepan, heat maple syrup and vanilla extract. Pour over hot baklava.
  8. Let it cool completely before serving.
