Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¾ cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • as needed Vegetable oil for frying
  • as needed Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add water and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Remove beignets with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
