Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions 

  1. Soak cashews in water for at least 2 hours.
  2. Drain and rinse cashews.
  3. Blend cashews with 2 cups of water until smooth.
  4. Add nutritional yeast, lemon juice, salt, and nutmeg. Blend again.
  5. Pour mixture into a saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
