  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Instructions 

  1. In a saucepan, combine cherries, maple syrup, water, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Stir in almond extract.
  3. Add cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
