Cherry Almond Compote Recipe

- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup water
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
In a saucepan, combine cherries, maple syrup, water, and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Stir in almond extract.
Add cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat and let cool.
