Ingredients 

Brine Ingredients

  • 1 gallon water
  • ¾ cup kosher salt
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large container, combine water, kosher salt, and sugar. Stir until dissolved.
  2. 2. Add black peppercorns, dried thyme, dried rosemary, and garlic powder. Stir to combine.
  3. 3. Submerge the chicken in the brine, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to 24 hours.
  4. 4. Remove the chicken from the brine, rinse under cold water, and pat dry before cooking.
