Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 pieces seitan steaks
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine almond milk and apple cider vinegar. Let it sit for a few minutes to curdle.
  2. 2. In another bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. 3. Dip each seitan steak into the almond milk mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture. Repeat for a double coating.
  4. 4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the coated seitan steaks until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. 5. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
