Ingredients 

Tortillas

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (for flour tortillas)
  • 1 cup masa harina (for corn tortillas)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour or masa harina and salt.
  2. 2. Gradually add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
  4. 4. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  5. 5. Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a thin circle.
  6. 6. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each tortilla for about 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
  7. 7. Keep the cooked tortillas warm in a clean kitchen towel until ready to serve.
