Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon active dry yeast

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast.
  2. 2. Add warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. 3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  4. 4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place your Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  5. 5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  6. 6. Carefully place the dough into the preheated Dutch oven, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. 7. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the bread is golden brown.
  8. 8. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
