Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and flatten slightly.
  6. 6. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the muffins for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. 7. Transfer the muffins to a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
  8. 8. Let the muffins cool before splitting and toasting. Enjoy!
