Falafel Ingredients
- 1 cup dried chickpeas soaked overnight
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup fresh parsley chopped
- 2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoon flour
- ¼ cup water if needed
- as needed oil for frying
1. Soak chickpeas overnight. Drain and rinse.
2. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and baking powder. Process until mixture is coarse.
3. Add flour and process until mixture holds together. Add water if needed.
4. Form mixture into balls or patties.
5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry falafel until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
6. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
