Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • Cooked rice for serving
  • Steamed broccoli for serving

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. 3. Add chickpeas to the pan and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. 4. Pour the sauce mixture into the pan and cook until it thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. 5. Garnish with green onions and serve with cooked rice and steamed broccoli.
