Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 lb dried split peas, rinsed
  • 6 cups vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions 

  1. Set Instant Pot to sauté mode. Heat olive oil and sauté onion, carrots, and celery until softened.
  2. Add garlic, thyme, smoked paprika, and bay leaf. Cook for another minute.
  3. Add split peas and vegetable broth. Stir well.
  4. Seal the Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 15 minutes.
  5. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
