Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 2 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rest for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  6. Roll out each ball into a circle about ¼ inch thick. Place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 5-7 minutes until the pitas puff up and are lightly browned.
  8. Remove from the oven and cover with a kitchen towel to keep them soft.
