Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 block firm tofu pressed and cut into rib-like strips

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix vegetable broth, soy sauce, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and liquid smoke.
  3. Place tofu strips in a baking dish and pour the marinade over them.
  4. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  5. Remove the foil and bake for another hour, basting occasionally.
