Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon sage
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Slowly whisk in the vegetable broth until smooth.
  6. Add soy sauce, thyme, and sage. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.
