Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups applesauce
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix applesauce, oil, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in nuts if using.
  6. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
