Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Add black beans, vegetable broth, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes.
Use a blender to puree the soup until smooth, or leave it chunky if you prefer.
Stir in lime juice and chopped cilantro before serving.
