Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw cashews soaked in water for at least 4 hours
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric for color
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika optional, for flavor

Instructions 

  1. 1. Drain and rinse the soaked cashews.
  2. 2. In a blender, combine the cashews, water, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, turmeric, and smoked paprika.
  3. 3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. 4. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. 5. Serve warm over pasta, nachos, or as a dip.
