Main Ingredients
- 1 cup raw cashews soaked in water for at least 4 hours
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoon nutritional yeast
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
- ½ teaspoon turmeric for color
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika optional, for flavor
1. Drain and rinse the soaked cashews.
2. In a blender, combine the cashews, water, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, turmeric, and smoked paprika.
3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
4. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
5. Serve warm over pasta, nachos, or as a dip.
