Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Vegan butter, cold cut into small pieces
  • ½ cup Molasses
  • ¼ cup Non-dairy milk

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt.
  3. Add the cold vegan butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the molasses and non-dairy milk. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a circle about 1 inch thick. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown. Let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
