Vegan Pop Tarts Recipe

Ingredients 

Dough

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Vegan butter cold
  • ¼ cup Cold water

Filling

  • ½ cup Fruit jam any flavor

Icing

  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Non-dairy milk
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour and cold vegan butter until crumbly. Gradually add cold water and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ⅛ inch thick. Cut into rectangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of fruit jam in the center of half the rectangles. Cover with the remaining rectangles and press the edges with a fork to seal.
  5. Place the pop tarts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. While the pop tarts cool, mix the powdered sugar, non-dairy milk, and vanilla extract to make the icing. Drizzle over the cooled pop tarts.
