  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the vinegar, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into an ungreased 8x8 inch baking pan.
  5. Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan before serving.
