  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated.
  4. Place the coated bread slices onto the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Serve the French toast topped with thinly sliced apples and a drizzle of maple syrup if desired.
